RM 8563* carbon dioxide was prepared by R. M. Verkouteren, Surface and Microanalysis Science Division, Chemical Science and Technology Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) [1,2]. It was first prepared in 1996 from SFE grade carbon dioxide (99.999%) obtained from Scott Speciality Gases, Plumstedsville, NJ., USA. This gas originated from combustion of by-products from a petrochemical refinery in the Eastern United States. Its recommended δ13C and δ18O values were determined in international calibrations [3,4].
Analyte | Value | Unit | SD | R/I/C |
---|---|---|---|---|
δ13C | -41.59 | ‰VPDB | 0.06 | C |
δ18O | -23.61 | ‰VPDB | 0.24 | R |
(SD) Combined standard uncertainty
(R/I/C) Classification assigned to the property value for analyte (Recommended/Information/Certified)
